There are few commentaries worth reading after skimming through some reddit threads.
(1). Logic of Desire, Peter Kalkavages: Read together with the book.
(2). The Genesis and Structure of Hegel’s Phenomenology of Spirit, Jean Hyppolite: Read together with the book.
(3). Hegel’s Ladder, H. S. Harris: Use this when you need to find answers. It’s a giant line-by-line commentary on the whole of the Phenomenology.
(4). Hegel and the Phenomenology of Spirit, Robert Stern: easy intro.
Also according to a review in goodreads, I plan to start with The Logic of Desire.
Two lectures can be found online, one is Gregory Sadler’s Half Hour Hegel, which walks through the whole book. Another is J.M. Bernstein’s Lecture on Hegel’s Phenomenology of Spirit.
My current plan is to read Logic of Desire and Phenomenology of Spirit together with the book first. Then read the book again with The Genesis and Structure, read the book again with Half Hour Hegel and then listen to J.M. Bernstein’s lecture.
